Travel - Directions and other helpful info for travelers

Here are some helpful hints for Bear Creek Outfitters' guests.

Traveling directions to Bear Creek Outfitters' properties from the following locations.

 

 

 FROM  DENVER, COLORADO

 

From the intersection of  Interstate 25 and Interstate 70. Travel west on Interstate 70

approximately 153 miles to Glenwood Springs. Exit Interstate 70 at the Glenwood

Springs / Aspen exit. There will be a series of three right hand turns, one at the bottom

of the exit, one at the following intersection, and the last turn at the next intersection. You should 

now be on Highway 82. This is also the main street of Glenwood Springs. Glenwood Springs

can supply you with all your last minute shopping supplies, i.e., gas, food and ice. Travel South East

on Highway 82 approximately 12 miles to the Carbondale exit. Exit right at the traffic signal

onto Highway 133. This is also the main street of Carbondale. Travel approximately 54 miles

on Highway 133 to the small town of Somerset. Travel directions from Somerset to your final

destination, can be found on the hunting camps page under that specific location. 

 

 

FROM GRAND JUNCTION, COLORADO:

 

Travel South on Highway 50 approximately 40 miles to the town of Delta. Enter Delta

from the north exit east on Highway 92. Travel east on Highway 92 approximately 20 miles to

the town of Hotchkiss. If you are hunting at the Shamrock property, you will want to follow

the directions from Hotchkiss to Shamrock, which can be found on the Shamrock page of 

the hunting camps. If you plan to hunt at the other properties, continue traveling East from

Hotchkiss on Highway 133 approximately 9 miles to the town of Paonia. Continue traveling

east on Highway 133 . At approximatley 7.5 from Paonia there will be a small road exiting on

your left hand side. The road will pass under a railroad tressel. Guests hunting Bear Creek,

Cottonwood and Fire Mt. will want to exit here. Travel 5 miles up the road to the Bear Creek Lodge.

Guests hunting West Muddy, Dead Man, Bull Mt. and Coyote Creek must continue east on

Highway 133, 1.2 miles to the town of Somerset. Travel directions from Somerset to your final

destination, can be found on the hunting camps page under that specific location.
